Company profile for a manufacturing company: what to include

Buyers of manufactured goods — OEMs, EPC contractors, PSU procurement teams and distributors — read a manufacturer’s profile to answer one question: can this plant make what we need, to specification, on time? Every section should help answer it.

Product range with specifications

Group products by family (for example: valves, fittings, fabricated assemblies). For each product state the size range, materials and grades, pressure or load ratings, applicable standards (IS, ASTM, DIN, API) and finishes. A buyer should be able to tell from the profile alone whether you make their item.

Plant, machinery and capacity

  • Plant location and area (covered and open), with the industrial estate or MIDC/GIDC/SIPCOT name if relevant.
  • Key machines with sizes or counts: CNC turning and machining centres, presses, furnaces, welding, paint shop.
  • Monthly or annual capacity in units, tonnes or pieces — only figures you can support.
  • In-house testing: hydrostatic test benches, hardness testing, PMI, CMM, lab equipment.

Quality control and traceability

Describe your process from raw material to dispatch: incoming material checks and mill test certificates, in-process inspection, final inspection, heat-number traceability, documents supplied with each order (test certificates, QAP, inspection reports). Mention third-party inspection if customers can witness tests.

Certifications and approvals

List current certifications (for example ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, product certifications) with scope, and vendor approvals from well-known buyers if you are allowed to mention them. Never list expired certificates.

Industries, clients and projects

Show the industries you supply — water, oil and gas, power, chemicals, pharma, food processing — and name clients or projects only where you have permission. A short case study (requirement, what you made, result) is very persuasive.

Photos that build trust

Use real photos of your shop floor, machines, finished products and testing. Clean, well-lit images of your own plant beat stock photos every time. If you use stock images for atmosphere, never present them as your factory.

Frequently asked questions

What should a manufacturing company profile include?

Product range with specifications, plant and machinery, capacity, quality control and traceability, certifications, industries and clients served, and full contact and registration details.

Should I mention production capacity?

Yes, if you can support the figure. Buyers use capacity to judge whether you can handle their volumes. Use realistic monthly or annual numbers.

Can I use stock photos in a manufacturing profile?

Use your own plant and product photos wherever possible. Stock images can add atmosphere, but they must not be presented as your own premises or products.
